Description

The Former Main Block to Selwood Hospital is a building that was originally a workhouse, designed based on Samuel Kempthorne's "Panopticon" plan from 1834. It may have been constructed by the architects Scott and Moffatt.

The administrative block faces east and features three windows with glazing bar sashes. There is a central door that includes a cornice and a transom light. The Y-plan building behind it is also three storeys tall and has glazing bar sash windows. The north and south wings consist of four bays, with a central gabled stair break. Additionally, there are single-storey framing wings.
