Description
South Mead Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that is rendered, ashlar-lined, and colourwashed, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof featuring wide bracketed eaves. The farmhouse has central lias stone chimney stacks with brick caps and is designed in a villa style.
The building has two storeys and a three-bay south elevation. It features sash windows with 20 panes in plain openings. The second bay on the lower level has a projecting porch with a Hamstone gable wall, a moulded ogee outer arch, and a gabletted finial with moulded coping, leading to an inner six-panel door. The side elevations each have two bays that match the front, with a lean-to under a catslide roof at the rear. On the west side, there are steps leading up to a first-floor door that matches the others. The interior has not been seen.
