Description
The Coach House and Stables attached to the Blue Ball Public House is an 18th-century structure. It is built from local stone with Doulting stone dressings and features an undulating plain clay tile roof. The building has two storeys, with a five-bay facade facing the yard and a three-bay return that links to the Blue Ball Public House.
The lower bays 1, 3, and 5 have plain surround two-light windows, while bay 2 features a semi-circular arched doorway with an ogee traceried fanlight. Bay 4 has a plain door, and there are oval windows in the upper bays 1 and 3. A circular winnow is set into the gable of bay 2, and there is a plain boarded door to bay 4, which is accessed by stone stairs over a semi-circular arched recess without a handrail. Bay 5 has a plain window that is blocked by shutters. The matching return on the west side of the yard remains largely unaltered.
