Description
The gazebo and attached garden wall, located about 35 metres southeast of Beckington Manor, date back to the 17th century, with the gazebo being rebuilt in the mid-19th century. The gazebo is a small circular structure made of rubble and is open on the west side. It features an arcade of three hexagonal wooden piers set on stone bases, topped with a conical stone tile roof that has a fluted ball finial. Inside, the slabbed floor is complemented by a plaster ceiling with radiating wooden ribbing and a central wooden ball pendant at the apex. The attached garden wall, made of rubble and standing 3 metres high, has a double-Roman tile capping and extends for 70 metres to the west. These two features are prominent at the entrance to the village.
