Description

The base of a cross, possibly from the 15th century, is located about 7 metres west of No. 12 Alvington Lane in Brympton d'Evercy. It is made of Ham stone and features a square base measuring approximately 900mm by 900mm, which is worked into an octagonal shape with diagonal corner shafts. The base stands about 500mm high and contains a shaft fragment that is around 350mm square and 750mm high. On the east side of the shaft fragment, there are traces of carving, which may depict a small statue under a canopy.
