Description
The Old Shop is a house dating from the 17th century, constructed from roughly coursed random rubble Doulting stone. It features a double Roman clay tile gabled roof with ashlar stone end chimney stacks that are two stages high and have moulded caps. The building is two stories tall and has a five-window front with a central entrance. The entrance includes a square-headed stone door frame with late 19th century double three-panel doors, where the top two panels of each door are glazed. On the ground floor, there are two fixed light shop windows with glazing bars, set in square-headed stone frames, along with a single 24-pane fixed light shop window that has a wooden lintel and a dripmould above. The first floor contains two-light bead moulded stone mullion windows with 15-pane leaded casements, two windows with 19th century two-pane casements, and a right-hand window that is now blocked.
