Description
No. 4 High Street is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is built of roughly coursed rubble Doulting stone and features a plinth, a weather string course, and a moulded cornice. The roof is gabled and covered with double Roman clay tiles, with rubble stone end chimney stacks. The building is two stories high and has a four-window front, with the entrance located beneath the second window. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed and set in a stop-chamfered square head stone frame. To the left of the door is a two-light, 12-pane sash window in a moulded stone mullion frame. The remaining windows are generally two-light, 2-pane 19th-century casement windows, also in moulded stone mullion frames.
