Description

This is a flax barn built in 1803, located about 50 metres south-east of Nos 3, 5, and 7 in South Petherton. The barn features ham stone ashlar piers and has a half-hipped clay tiled roof. It consists of ten bays, with the two western bays serving as a throughway. The roof is supported by queen-post trusses with tie beams and two collars. The end walls are made of stone, with some timber cladding between the piers. One of the piers is inscribed with 'Built by J.R. Edwards 1803'. At the east end, there are stock stalls that extend northwards and southwards, along with other lean-to buildings.
