Description
Blackmoor House is an early 19th-century house constructed from local stone ashlar, featuring a hipped Welsh slate roof with a wide eaves overhang and central brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and two bays, with plain 12-pane sash windows. On either side of the lower windows, there are recesses that resemble blocked doorways, although the layout of the house does not support this. On the east side, there is an early 20th-century single-storey extension that includes a 4-panel door beneath a fanlight and a flat-roofed open porch. To the right of this extension, there are two casement windows, one of which has unusual glazing; the central 'hatch' is a remnant from when the village post-office operated from this location. The rear of the house incorporates an older cottage, and the interior of the house has seen little alteration.
