Description
No. 12 Fore Street is an early 19th-century building that features a front added to an older timber-framed structure. It has two storeys and is finished in stucco. The building has a cornice with brackets and a parapet, topped by an old tiled roof that is hipped towards the street. On the first floor, there is a large 19th-century six-light window, with a four-light canted bay window in the center. Above this window, there is a dentilled cornice and carved brackets with pendants underneath. The ground floor has a 19th-century double shop front, with an entrance on the right leading into Pig Market Lane. This building is part of an important group that includes No. 1A Billet Street, No. 66 The County Hotel, the Brendon Bar, and No. 8 East Street, along with other listed buildings in Cheapside, Fore Street, and the Parade.
