Description
The Coke monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Andrew and St Mary. It dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and is made of Ham stone with lias panels. The tomb features a ledger top, a strongly moulded cornice, and a plinth. The north and south faces are divided into two sections with ovolo moulded jambs. The inscribed panels are somewhat eroded, with the north-east panel dedicated to a member of the Coke family, although only the last three letters of the inscription are still legible. This individual died in 1719.
