Description
The linhay at Smallbrook Farm is an early 19th-century structure that has been restored in the late 20th century. It features red sandstone random rubble construction, with some columns partially rendered. The roof on the west side, which faces the farmhouse, is slate, while the rear has a combination of corrugated iron and slate. The building has a dogleg plan, with a garage at the north-northwest end and an attached seven-bay linhay supported by round stone piers, one of which has been renewed. There is an opening in the rear wall of the fifth bay, and the south end has coped verges. The roof structure consists of collar and tie-beams. This large and attractive linhay is situated in a prominent position just outside Milverton on the Wellington Road and has been carefully restored.
