Description
This building is an outbuilding located about 10 metres south-west of Evenlode. It is a stable that has been converted into a garage and storeroom. The structure dates from the early to mid-19th century and was altered in the late 20th century. It is constructed from random rubble local stone, with brick dressings and a double-Roman tiled roof. The verges are coped with Ham stone and feature ball finials. The layout includes a loft over the stables and a tack room, which is now used as a garage. The building is two storeys high and has two loft openings below the eaves on the left side. The ground floor has segmental-headed openings, with three-light leaded iron casements flanking a pair of stable doors, and an inserted garage door in the end bay on the right. The rear elevation has a central loft opening below the eaves, also with brick dressings, and iron ties on the unlit north-west gable end that faces the road. This building is primarily listed for its group value with Evenlode, which is located to the north-east.
