Description

No 44 on Princes Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, and is now covered in a colourwash. The building features a plain clay tiled roof that is lower than those of the neighboring properties. The ground floor has modern shopfronts, while the first floor showcases two mullioned two-light windows that exhibit a transitional style between Tudor chamfered and Georgian architraves. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
