Description

West End Villa is a detached house built in the late 18th century. It features local stone rubble with a red brick facade laid in Flemish bond, topped by a plain clay tile roof over stone slate base courses and coped gables. The building has two storeys and three bays, with 12-pane sash windows in plain openings that have gauged brick flat arches. The central entrance consists of a 6-panel door set in a semi-circular arched recess, accompanied by a plain fanlight and framed by a timber surround with flat Doric pilasters and an incised arch motif, topped by an open pediment hood. At the rear, there is a two-storey workshop constructed of red brick, likely from the 19th century, featuring a plain tile roof and external brick and stone access stairs to the first floor, along with timber windows. The interior has not been seen.
