Description
West End Methodist Chapel is a 19th-century chapel constructed from local stone that is cut and squared, featuring Doulting stone dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has large gable overhangs, with openwork bargeboards on the south end projection and tall metal ventilators along the main ridge. The building has one and two storeys and a southwest flank that consists of five bays.
The first bay features a projecting two-storey gable with semi-circular arched two-light windows that include circular toplights. The second bay has a further projecting one-storey gabled porch with a pair of three-panelled doors set in a round arched opening. Bays three and four have single tall windows similar to those in bay one, while bay five includes a projecting gabled wing with a plain slim semi-circular arched window.
On the southeast end, there is a hexagonal extension built in ashlar with a hipped roof and two-light windows that match those in bay one. Inside, the chapel has a rear gallery with a room underneath, staggered pews, and the usual pulpit and seating for the priest and deacons.
