Description
Prospect House is a detached house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with dressings of Doulting stone, and has a hipped roof of Welsh slate, with brick chimney stacks at the ends. The house is three storeys high and originally three bays wide. It features square bay windows with composite sash windows and lead flat roofs to the outer bays on the ground floor. The central entrance has a pair of three-panel doors beneath a semi-circular arch, fitted with a radial glazed fanlight. The arch is set within a stone surround featuring flat Doric pilasters and an open pediment hood. First floor windows are 16-pane sashes set in plain ashlar surrounds, and the second floor has 9-pane sashes. A lean-to conservatory is located on the southwest corner. The building date is not precisely known, but it was occupied by William Pearce in 1798.
