Description
The Globe Inn is a building that underwent mid-19th century remodelling of a house originally built in the 1680s. It stands at 2½ storeys high and is constructed of rubble with block dressings, topped with a pantile roof. The façade features two dormers with stone brackets supporting the gutter and two windows with cross-glazed sashes. The central entrance is a six-panel door, adorned with cut brackets supporting a flat moulded hood. Behind the inn, there are maltings and a brewery, which include a segment-headed flat mullioned two-light window, some of which still have small pane casements. There is also a small mid-19th century shop front with arcaded glazing bars and a mansard pantile roof. The courtyard is enclosed by former stables that have openings leading to Baker Street. The interior has been altered.
