Description

Number 3 Gentle Street is a former Waggon and Horses Inn, dating from the 17th century. The building is constructed of rubble and stands three storeys high, featuring two gables. The upper windows have later three-light casements, while the lower windows are fitted with 18th-century sash windows. To the left of the entrance is a modern window. Above the doorway, there is a small stair-light with a wooden surround and lintel. The entrance features a doorway with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, a moulded lintel, and an ogee stop moulded surround. The door is studded and has a modern glass panel inserted. The roof is covered with stone tiles.
