Description
Highfield House is a town house, now used as offices, built around 1800 for the Allen family. The building features a rendered exterior and a hipped slate roof, with ashlar stacks that are moulded around the base and apex. The symmetrical facade consists of two storeys and five bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The central entrance has a semi-circular head door opening, which contains a six-panelled door and a decorated fanlight above. There is a solid-sided porch with a moulded cornice and a blocking course, supported by three-quarter Tuscan columns. To the left, there is a hipped slate roof outshut that connects to a late 19th-century angular bay, linked to the main house by a mid-20th-century glazed passageway.
