Description

Court Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with later alterations and a 20th-century restoration. It is constructed of Doulting rubble with dressed quoins, and has concrete imitation stone tile roofs. There are two stacks, one of rubble and one of ashlar. The house is divided into two sections: the left side has three bays and two storeys, while the right side has two bays, two storeys and an attic. The fenestration is irregular. The second and fourth bays are set within projecting gabled wings, the wing to the right having a semi-basement. The windows are ovolo-moulded stone mullioned, with 2 and 3 lights, some restored. A 2-light mullion and transom window is present on the first floor of the right bay, and all windows have leaded lights. A door opening is located between the gabled wings, leading to a 20th-century flat-roofed ashlar porch with a 4-centred stone surround and a recessed, ribbed and studded door. A mansard-roofed one-storey wing, built of modern construction and containing a petal double garage door, is set at a right angle to the front facade. The rear of the house features 2-light stone mullioned windows, predominantly restored.
