Description

The Market Cross, dating from around 1100, was rebuilt on its current site in 1959. It is made of dressed Doulting stone and features a circular stepped plinth. The cross has a plain, four-sided shaft that is slightly curved on each side, standing on a cylindrical base. Each corner of the shaft is adorned with beading that leads up to a wheel head cross decorated with nailhead motifs. Originally, this cross was located in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints.
