Description
Old Middle Leigh Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th or 17th century, with many external features from the 18th century and some alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared lias rubble and has a pantile roof with coped verges and end brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical facade featuring one bay on each side. The first floor has two and three-light casements with glazing bars, while the ground floor includes a broad three-light casement to the left with 36 panes, a flat-arch head made of rough-hewn voussoirs, and a drip. To the right, there is a three-light metal casement with leaded lights, also featuring rough-hewn voussoirs and a drip. The right half of the facade is obscured by a single-storey lean-to with a triple Roman tile roof, which has a 20th-century French window and a small two-pane casement. The principal door opening features a studded plank door and a hood covered with pantiles.
