Description

Hindhays is a house built in 1807 for Joseph Clark I. It features colourwashed render and a pantile roof with coped verges, a moulded stone cornice, and end brick stacks. The building has a nearly symmetrical road frontage with two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays. It includes 16-pane sash windows and a 13-pane semi-circular head stairlight. The central entrance has a 6-panelled door and a hood supported by slender metal posts. There are projecting wings on either side, each with a catslide pantile roof, coped verges topped with ball finials, small 20th-century flat-roofed dormers, and 20th-century casement windows.
