Description

No. 148 High Street is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared lias rubble with a slate roof, featuring coped verges and end ashlar stacks. The building has a symmetrical front with two storeys and three bays. The ground floor has 16-pane sash windows, while the first floor features 12-pane sash windows, all with wedge lintels. The central entrance has a semi-circular head opening with a six-panelled door and a fanlight above. Inside, the house retains many original features, including a geometric staircase, doors, window shutters, and cupboards, with lias flags on the ground floors.
