Description
Eggwood Farm is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a thatched roof between stepped coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. The windows are casements with horizontal bars, consisting of three lights in all but the third bay on the first floor, which has a plain two-light casement. The ground floor windows have keystoned lintels. There is a 20th-century doorway to the right of the first bay and a studded boarded door, likely the original, in the third bay, both situated under keystoned lintels. The first bay appears to have been largely rebuilt following a collapse. The gables are plain, and attached to the east gable is a tall lean-to building that features a false three-centre arched doorway. The interior has not been seen.
