GV II

Churchyard cross, and first World War Memorial. 1920 by Sir Ninian Comper. Ham Stone. Two octagonal base steps, the lower moulded top and bottom, about 2.5 metres across and 600mm high, the upper about 1.5 metre across and 250mm high; then square plinth with broached top corners, carved wreath on east face and names all round; slim octagonal shaft with medieval style termination having small figures on the principal faces set in ogee-arched gabled niches, spirelet finial. Strongly traditional in design, but very well detailed; adds greatly to the setting of the Church and churchyard.
