Description

These are a pair of cottages, originally three, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with dressings made from Haw stone. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate and feature bargeboarded gables, along with ornamental bargeboards on the north elevation. A central brick chimney stack is present. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of three bays, with the central bay projecting in a gabled form. The windows are two-light hollow-chamfer mullioned with four-centre arches, ornamental cast iron lattices, and square labels. Although the gable porches have been removed, there is a slated porch hood on a rustic post between the second and third bays, and a boarded door is located on the return face of the projection. The interiors have been slightly modified at the rear, but much of the original work remains intact.
