Description

The chest tomb of the McKenna family is located 50 metres north of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew. It was designed in 1932 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The tomb is a low, four-square structure made of Portland stone. Its corners are set on a bellied plinth, with the central section of each side extending down to the base and slightly projecting to form inscribed memorial tablets. A wreathed band is present between each of these sections. The top of the tomb is virtually flat and features an equilateral cross in relief.
