Description

The building comprises two shops at numbers 12 and 14 Fore Street, along with an archway to the left, built in 1826. It is constructed of stucco with painted stone keystones and sills, with a gabled slate roof and a brick ridge stack. The building follows a double-depth plan and has two storeys, arranged over a four-window frontage. Number 12 features a 19th-century plate glass shop front with a reeded surround, a central doorway, and a moulded cornice above. Number 14 has a mid-20th century shop front. The first floor has four 8/8-pane sash windows with keystones. A rear wing of Number 14, which was once part of a terraced house in Howards Row, is listed separately.

The ground floor has been altered for retail use, while the first floor was not inspected. A round-arched carriage entrance is located on the far left, with a keystone and imposts. A plaque reading "Howard's Row" is visible at the front, and a datestone is located at the rear.
