Description
This house, located to the north of Howard's Row and at the rear of No. 14, dates from the early 19th century but has earlier origins. It features painted roughcast walls and a slate roof with a brick ridge stack positioned to the right of the door. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range. The right section, which is attached to the rear of No. 14 Fore Street, includes a 20th-century glazed door. The second section from the right has an early 19th-century six-panel door with an overlight that has two glazing bars, accompanied by a 20th-century triangular wooden porch. The far left and second from the left sections have 20th-century triangular planked doors. All windows are 8/8-pane sashes. Inside, the interior has been significantly altered, but some 17th-century chamfered beams remain on the ground floor. This house is included for its group value, as the rest of Howard's Row has been altered and does not meet listing criteria.
