Description
The gate and gatepiers at the east entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St Andrew were built between 1863 and 1865 and designed by John Norton. The gatepiers are made of dressed blue lias with ashlar limestone caps. They feature a moulded cornice and plinth, chamfered corners, and a pyramid top adorned with a cluster of foliage. The gate itself is made of cast iron, with fleur de lys standards at the outer ends, tripartite uprights, and a metal curved support on the northwest face. The design of the gate and gatepiers is similar to that of the piers and railings in front of the Church of St Andrew.
