Description

This is an early 19th-century chest tomb located one metre south of the south aisle of the Church of the Holy Cross in Sampford Arundel. It is made of Ham stone and sits on a rubble base. The tomb features a ledger top with a continuous moulded cornice surrounding projecting angle columns, and there are centre columns on the long sides. The ashlar facing is missing, and the tomb is sunk, projecting about 300 millimetres above the ground.
