Description
Norwood Farmhouse is a farmhouse that underwent early 18th century alterations to 17th century buildings. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubble and Doulting stone, featuring dressed quoins. The roof is gabled with a catslide at the rear and has end chimney stacks with chamfer moulded caps. The building has a two-storey "L"-shaped plan and a five-window front, with a central entrance. There are weathered string courses at both the first floor level and above it. The entrance features an 8-moulded panel door, with the top four panels glazed, set in a chamfered stone frame with a flat pointed arch. To the left of the door is an 18th century, 16-pane sash window in a plain stone frame, along with two 2-light, 3-pane casement windows in chamfered stone mullion frames. On the first floor, windows 1, 3, and 5 are 2-light, 3-pane casement windows in chamfered stone mullion frames, while windows 2 and 4 are similar but include ovolo mouldings.
