Description
This is a roadbridge over the River Brue, built in the 17th century and restored with a datestone on the parapet that reads 'C.P. 1846'. The bridge is constructed from coursed and squared lias and features five slightly flattened semi-circular archways with rough-hewn voussoirs. There are four massive cutwaters with offsets on the upstream side and a continuous string course below the parapets. Each parapet has five small semi-circular archways that allow water to pass through during floods. The bridge has a 20th-century concrete capping. It is included in the listing due to its near complete survival.
