Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located 2 metres east of the south porch in the churchyard of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. It is likely from the 17th century and is made of Doulting stone. The tomb features a tall moulded base, plain slab sides and flanks, and a moulded slightly hipped top with chamfered corners. Although the inscriptions have been lost, the date 1779 is just discernible on the south side. The north face has two recessed panels with incised decoration, which are badly weathered and have lost their inscriptions.
