Description
The Pen Selwood War Memorial is a war memorial, likely built in the 1920s. It is made of dressed granite and features a freestanding cross with a square shaft that sits on a four-stepped stone base. The south faces of the base are inscribed in black lettering with the words: "IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE PENSELWOOD MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918" followed by five names. Additionally, there is a stone set in the ground to the south, inscribed with "1939-1945" and two names, as well as a name of an individual who died as a result of injuries received in the Great War. The memorial is located close to the churchyard wall, which has been reduced by two courses of stone. The ground leading up to the memorial has been lowered and is lined with partly-buried, double-course stone walls. There are also two low stone piers above the churchyard wall.
