Description
The Marston Inn is an inn dating from the late 18th century, with some modifications made in the 20th century. The building features a textured rendered exterior, with Ham stone rusticated quoins and a doorcase. It has a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, which has a wide eaves overhang, and there are rendered stone chimney stacks at both ends. The inn is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance is framed by a Doric pilaster door surround, which does not have a hood, and it leads to an early 20th-century door. There are 16-pane sash windows on both levels. To the east, there is a single-storey rendered extension that has exposed quoins and a hipped slate roof, featuring an early 20th-century window in what was once a plain doorway. The elevation facing Yeovil Road includes early 20th-century windows, including a shallow projecting bay. The interior of the building has been significantly altered.
