Description

The gate piers at the former north entrance to Poundisford Park date from around 1835 and are possibly the work of Richard Carver. Made of stone, the piers are octagonal in shape and feature arched recessed panels, along with moulded cornices and plinths. Each pier is topped with a lion in a rampart position. The north drive leading to Poundisford Park was designed by Charlotte Welman following the death of her first husband in 1829.
