Description
No. 17 High Street is a cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from random red sandstone rubble and features a triple Roman tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The building is designed in a Gothick style and consists of a single bay. On the first floor, there is a three-light casement window, with each light having a semi-circular head and thin glazing bars. The ground floor has a canted six-light bay window. To the right of the bay window is a door opening with a two-panelled door. Above the door, there is a double Roman tiled pentice that extends across the frontage, forming the roof of the bay window, supported by a wooden bracket on the right. This cottage is part of a row of similar cottages, although it has been altered and is not considered to be of special interest.
