Description
There are two chest tombs located in the churchyard, 8 meters north of the north side of the chancel of the Church of All Saints. These tombs date from the 17th and 18th centuries and are made of dressed stone.
The first tomb is dedicated to Mary Whiting and is dated 1668. It features a sunken plinth and an oblong chest with semi-circular niches on each face, adorned with dentil decoration. The top is a hipped slab, and there are inscriptions on the south and east sides.
The second tomb is for William Maliers, dated 1714. This tomb has a bellied oblong shape and a hipped slab top that is elaborately moulded around the lower edge. It includes an inset inscription panel made of lias on the north and south faces, although the inscription on the south side is decayed.
