Description

The Three Swans Inn is a building that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with an early 19th-century extension. The original 17th-century section features an older gabled front, which was likely originally jettied. The exterior is rendered and has a pantile roof, with a pair of mid-19th-century windows. The ground floor is made of rubble and includes an ovolo-moulded surround to a studded door, along with a modern pastiche of an 18th-century glazing bar 4-light window. The early 19th-century extension has a gabled dormer and shares a stone chimney with the adjacent property, No 15. There are three ranges of glazing bar sash windows with timber lintels. Inside, the front room in the gable features windbraces and one side of a curved-brace truss. The first-floor rear room of the original part contains part of a windbrace and a 3-light oak ovolo mullion window.
