Description

No. 18 King Street is a building that likely dates back to the 17th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of rough-cast and features a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with the upper two floors overhanging and each having one modern casement window. The ground floor has a plain mid- to late 19th century shop front. Inside, the first floor boasts an enriched plaster ceiling decorated with a Tudor rose and two zoomorphic devices. There is also a Tudor-arched fireplace and a beam with ogee mouldings. Additionally, scratch-mouldings can be found on the risers of the newel staircase.
