Description
Nos 33-41 on Princes Street is a row of townhouses that have been converted into shops with offices, dating from around 1820. The building is constructed from Ham stone ashlar and features a very shallow pitched roof, possibly covered with Welsh slate, behind a parapet. The facade is three stories high and has three bays, with the right-hand bay (No 37) being narrower than the other two. Each end of the building is defined by rusticated pilaster strips. The ground floor has modern shopfronts. The first floor has three windows, each with 12 panes, although the glazing bars on the lower casements have been removed. These windows are set in stone architraves and are separated by a string course from the matching windows on the second floor. A continuous cornice runs along the top, with a shallow parapet above. The interiors have not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
