Description

The signal box, built in 1862, is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a moulded plinth and a slate roof featuring decorative bargeboards. It is a single cell structure with two bays, featuring many paned sliding sash windows, which are also lit on the returns. The entrance is located on the right return and is accessed by a flight of six wooden steps leading to a wooden porch topped with an asbestos slate-covered roof and a half-glazed door. Inside, the box contains the original signal levers and frames. This signal box is part of a notable group of well-preserved station buildings.
