Description
44 and 46 Long Street are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, possibly incorporating an earlier dwelling. They are rendered over rubble with a shallow pitch asbestos slate roof and brick stacks that rise from the eaves. The cottages are two storeys high and have three bays, with the central bay slightly recessed, suggesting that the structure was adapted from an existing building rather than being designed from scratch. The cottages feature 16-pane sash windows, with two windows on the first floor to the left supported by decorative cast iron brackets for flower boxes. The central entrance consists of a pair of plank doors beneath a pentice hood. The interiors have not been viewed.
