Description

This is a shop and cottage dating to the 17th century, significantly altered in the early 20th century. The left three bays are rendered with a grooved finish to imitate ashlar, while the right side is roughcast. It has a thatched roof with brick stacks located at the left gable end, the center left, and between the fourth and fifth bays on the right. The building is arranged in an 'L' shape, with a shop on the left and a long rear wing. The right side adjoins a two-cell cottage with a cross passage. It is one and a half storeys high, with five bays. There are two-light dormer casements, and a sixteen-pane sash window in the rightmost bay. The ground floor features an early 20th-century double shop front with bow windows containing numerous glazing bars, and a central glazed door. To the right is a sixteen-pane sash window, and flanking a 20th-century half-glazed door. The long left return contains a bakery.
