Description

This is a cottage dating to 1616, with alterations and a new roof from the 19th century. It is constructed with roughcast over rubble, with exposed quoins. The roof is slate, with overhanging eaves and sprockets, and brick stacks are positioned on the gable ends and to the right of the cross passage. The original plan likely comprised three rooms and a cross passage. The two-bay façade is long, featuring three-light leaded iron casement windows with painted stepped lintels and rusticated surrounds to the centre left. A 20th-century half-glazed door sits centrally, sheltered by a weather-boarded gable porch hood. A date plaque is located to the right of the entrance, inscribed with the year 1616 and a rose bush design, which mirrors a similar design found on Stream Farmhouse.
