BRIDGWATER BINFORD PLACE (South side) Brick parapet in Blake Gardens along the riverbank

Brick parapet with 2 piers. c1898. English bond brick with stone coping, cornices and panels. The wall, approx 1.5m high and 15m between the piers, has a wide sloping buttress to the centre bearing a plaque. The substantial cuboidal piers, a little higher than the wall, have stone blocks to the top over dentilled cornices and stone sunk panels edged with egg-and-dart moulding. Blake Gardens were purchased from R C Else by the Corporation in 1898. (Somerset: London: 1910-: 139).
