Description

Two houses, dating from the late 18th century, are located on Salmon Parade in Bridgwater. They are built of staggered Flemish-bond brick, with a pantile half-hipped mansard roof and a brick stack in the centre of the ridge. The houses have a three-unit plan, including a rear outshut. The two-storey facade of No.23 has a two-window range, while No.24 has a one-window range. To the left of No.23, a vertical joint marks a boundary. An eaves-level window with a horned 10/10-pane sash is present above a 20th-century glazed door. A brick platband spans the facade, running across No.24. No.24 features a 6/6-pane sash window on the first floor and a 10/10-pane sash below, both with flat brick arches. The right return has a segmental arch over a small 20th-century attic window, a 20th-century glazed door to the left, a wooden lintel over a high outshut casement window, and a single-storey section to the right. The interior has not been inspected. A staggered Flemish-bond brick garden wall, approximately 10 metres in length on each side, encloses the south and east boundaries of the garden.
